Emma Mcloughlin
I am an interdisciplinary artist, researcher, and writer who finds myself at the intersection of art and science, particularly visual culture and ecology.
My training is broadly academic having completed a BA in Biological Natural Sciences at University of Cambridge and an MA in Material and Visual Culture at University College London. I also love analogue and alternative photography, having taught myself all my photography skills.
By exploring the visual culture of the so called Anthropocene, I am interested in building transdisciplinary and critical photographic practices that can help us navigate these precarious and troubling times. How can we challenge systems of power through political-ecological imagining and collective world-making?
Currently I am completing a Horticulture course and looking to get more hands-on growing experience. In my spare time I like to play rugby and volunteer at Sutton Community Farm. I am constantly looking for ways to get out in nature and entangle myself with the mud, shrubs, and critters.
If any of your interests align with mine I would love to hear from you! You can contact me on my instagram page or via email.
